Bio
The Perpetual Student
After a decade in the corporate world, I decided to come back to academia and earn a B.A. in Literature. It only took one class for me to be hooked forever. I only asked myself one question: how do I get to stay in school forever? That question set me on my current path to obtaining my M.A. in Literature and hopefully will sustain me into a PhD after I am finished. I found a love for the classroom discussion environment and I want to be able to foster those spaces for others. Since that fateful first class, I have found a love for postcolonial literature and the literature of other indigenous and marginalized peoples. Like Wallace Stevens, I know how important it is to continue to look at things through a variety of different lenses. It is imperative to maintain this view in my writing and researching as well as in my teaching. Since I have started teaching this semester, I have truly found my passion. Leading a classroom discussion has shown me the importance of keeping an open mind while directing students to do the same.
